Summer of Love

I really need to get better at blogging after each of our weddings but I just get SO excited to share your special moments on Facebook so that you can share them with your loved ones that I completely forget that I can share them here too! Just to get caught up I'll just show an image or two from each of our amazing couples up to today.

In April I got to make one of my long time dreams come true in this amazing styled shoot. A collaborative effort of SO many wonderful vendors this technicolor shoot topped anything I could have imagined. And then as if it hadnt been great enough we got featured on Hill City Bride! Check out the feature here: http://www.hillcitybride.com/2016/05/a-technicolor-kind-of-love/

Never in a million years did I think I'd get the chance to shoot at Trump Winery yet in April that's were I found myself with a whole roster of awesome Rising Tide vendors. There were vendors from all over Charlottesville and almost 24 photographers all shooting this stunning model at once. Check out some of the epic shots I captured on my camera here >> http://cyorkphotography.pass.us/trump-shoot/

I realized while taking this gorgeous young lady's college grad photos that I've known her since she was 13! When Mo asked me to take her pics celebrating her pending graduation from my own alma- mater I literally started jumping up and down like a toddler. I'm so excited for her.

Our second wedding of the year was this stunning wedding at Berkeley Plantation and these two gorgeous people. Chelsea and Chris's big day was absolute perfection, words just cant even begin to describe it.

I met Kenneth at Longwood University when he was my girlfriend's RA. Now being chosen to help him and his fiance's big day, I'm just over the moon.

After SO many rain checks finally getting to take this country couple's engagement pics was quite the big deal. I met John and Erin on Erin's family farm to snap some moments to celebrate their approaching nuptials.

This dreamy shot was taken first at Tiffiani and David's e-session and then on their wedding day. It was so sweet to see the small changes between to two as they went from Groom and Bride to Husband and Wife. Beautiful.

Most recently I got to make the trek to Colonial Williamsburg with Kim and Ashlyn for their historically hilarious engagement photos.

The Littlest Big Day

Meg and Kayla are one of Tinder’s rare true love stories. They first laid eyes on each other on a phone screen and it was love at first swipe. Kayla recalled in her vows that she was immediately smitten over Meg and just knew she had to meet her. They met in person for the first time at the Dc Zoo. They had a connection neither could ignore and friendship and flirting quickly became more. After a whirlwind courtship they found themselves back at the very same zoo, Kayla on one knee, ready to spend the rest of their lives together.

When selecting a venue they agreed the both wanted to be close to the zoo which had been the background of such huge moments in their relationship, so just a few blocks away at the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel they planned their intimate “big” day. Meg allowed the glam of the hotel’s interior architecture and rich, lively history to shape the glamorous Art Deco theme of the wedding. With only 25 guests standing in formation around them, they said their own vows in front of the courtyard fountain and were presented as wife and wife by Meg’s sister.

Check out just a few of my fav pics of their big day. You can check out even MORE over at Capital Romance where Kayla and Meg's special day was featured on their Real Weddings Blog. >>> http://www.capitolromance.com/2016/05/18/meg-kaylas-intimate-art-deco-inspired-dc-wedding/

Let The 2016 Wedding Season Begin!

IMG_8717.jpg

I could not have picked up a sweeter couple to spend our first wedding of the 2016 year with. Lizzie, a close friend of mine from our university days (oh, so long ago) and her amazing husband Steven gathered with their friends and family on the water in Historic Yorktown , VA. Accompanied by a very chilly breeze we got to see this adorable couple LITERALLY tie the knot becoming Mr. & Mrs. Hancock. Here are just a few of our favs form their big day.

A Day at The Gardens

I honestly have no idea how I made it 29 years, being born and raise in the fabulous state of Virginia, and never once went to the ever so amazing Busch Gardens. Yes! It's true. I'd never been. Until I met these two lovebirds. Mary and Ryan are what some call VIP's of the Busch Garden park because well, they LOVE to visit. So much so that they decided what better place to take their engagement photos?! Check out a few of our fun moments from Ryan and Mary's engagement adventure.

We're Baaaaack!!

We're Baaaaack!!

Hello again world!!! If you are part of the Cyork Photography family you might have noticed the absence of our page on the World Wide Web. But fear not we are back, and boy are we here to stay.

Since our last website we have undergone SO many changes, so over the next several weeks of blogs I will be reintroducing us to the world.

First, You might have noticed our beautiful new rebranding by the amazing Jenna of Icandothatdesign design. She was the geniuses behind our first logo and branding and as expected she knocked it out of the park. Check her amazing branding and wedding stationary work out at www.Icandothatdesign.com.

NEXT and probably most importantly, we have a new and may I say permanent second shooter. My amazing little (I should say younger cause she's 4" taller than me) sister Meagan. Get to know her next week on the blog where she will pop in to tell you about herself and how she go swept up in the world of wedding photography.

It feels so good to be back. It's going to be a huge year for us. 18 weddings!! So stay tuned for what I'm sure will be lots of shenanigans. See you soon!

XOXO

-Carley & Meagan
